This is the HKAAF...NOT The RHKAAF.
From 1949 to 1950, it was known as HKAAF and the Royal title was approved by King George VI in 1951.
This badge was therefore only used for a very short period of time, and given to only a few Officers.
Gaunts, brass, original screw posts fixings.I believe this to be a later than period strike but on an original Gaunts Die. To my certain knowledge this was one of eight purchased from Gaunts by my father in the mid 1960s.
This sale price reflects its later strike as an original of the period would of course cost far more.
